Your training happens in a real working environment. A theatre, a concert venue, a festival site, an events space. Somewhere with a grid, a patch bay, a loading dock, and a bump-in schedule that doesn't care how tired you are. You train where the work actually happens, because that's the only place these skills can be learned properly.

Before you start, we identify and approve a workplace mentor — an experienced industry professional in your environment who supervises your practical work, signs off your logbook evidence, and keeps you accountable to industry standard. We don't just drop a workbook on your desk and wish you luck. We assess your mentor, we brief them, and we support them throughout your training. The quality check runs all the way through.

Your logbook is the record of your competency. Every task, every sign-off, every demonstration of skill — logged, witnessed, and assessed against the national standard. It's not a formality. It's the evidence that you can do what you say you can do, in a real production environment, under real conditions.

For candidates who need concentrated skill development — or where venue access needs to be structured — we offer intensive delivery. Blocks of face-to-face, hands-on training in a working venue environment. This is the most established delivery mode in our Live Production pathway, and it's available across the qualification ladder.
